- 7.5 percent of the population ages 15-49 is HIV positive
- 13.1 million women ages 15-49 are HIV positive
- 1.9 children under the age of 14 are HIV positive
- In 2003 alone, 2.2million adults and children died of AIDS

- 37.8 million adults and children live with HIV/AIDS
- 15 million children under the age of 17 have become orphans as a result of AIDS
- 1.1 percent of the population ages 15-49 is HIV positive
- 17 million women ages 15-49 are HIV positive
- 2.1 children under the age of 14 are HIV positive
- In 2003 alone, 15 million adults and children died of AIDS
