Meet Our Board
25:40 is blessed to have a board of directors that has a variety of strengths and interests that can further its mission of serving AIDS orphans in South Africa. The board members are deeply committed to 25:40's mission and because of them 25:40 will continue to grow beyond our humble expectations.
Alec and Amy Zacaroli founded 25:40 in 2003, after being introduced to the work of Nazareth House and HOKISA, two organizations in Cape Town that care for children orphaned by AIDS. Alec is an attorney in private practice in Washington, D.C. who specializes in environmental litigation. He earned an undergraduate degree from George Washington University and a J.D. from American University. Amy is a writer and former journalist. She earned her undergraduate degree from James Madison University. Alec and Amy have four children, Nicholas, Sophie, Hannah and Rebecca.
Jack Lewis is an attorney who has practiced law for over 25 years. Currently, Jack is a Senior Counsel in Chevron’s Law Department in Houston where has worked for the past 16 years. Prior to joining Chevron, Jack was a partner in a New Orleans law firm, where he specialized in litigation. Jack graduated from Tulane Law School (New Orleans) in 1980 and from Moravian College (Bethlehem, PA) in 1977.
Jack is an elder and involved in various ministries at HopePointe Church in The Woodlands, Texas.
Jack and his wife Melanie have been married for 22 years and have two children – Megan (a high school senior) and Jonathan (a sophomore at Trinity University in San Antonio).Carol's extensive business financial and organizational experience is a perfect match for 25:40's marketing and fund-raising needs. Carol is the Manager of Business Planning & Strategy for Sprint Nextel for the Northeast Region, and has 37 years of telecommunications experience with the former Bell System, Nextel, and now Sprint Nextel. She also serves on the Board for United Marriage Encounter, an international ministry based in Muscatine, Iowa; and co-chairs the Development and Finance Committee for that organization with her husband, Ron. They have been married for 38 years and have one son, Geoffrey (Geoff), who is 22 years old. Ron and Carol are both active members of Fairfax Presbyterian Church. Education: BA from Rutgers University; MS in Information Resources Management from Syracuse University.
