One Child at a Time
25:40 is a non-profit organization dedicated to giving at-risk children in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province a fighting chance to survive the devastating impacts of poverty, disease and violence.
AFTERCARE
After school care programs offer orphans and vulnerable children a safe place to be after school. 25:40 offers them a healthy meal, help with homework and lifeskills, health monitoring and government services advocacy, all rooted in the Gospel. We have 3 aftercare sites in the Nqgeleni District and one in Port Alfred, serving more than 100 children.
PRESCHOOL
25:40’s Masonwabe Preschool earned accreditation by the South African Department of Education in 2017. Our local staff are well-trained and organized, but more than that, they love the children and find joy and purpose in providing our students with a solid foundation in social skills, a love for learning, and the love that Jesus Christ has for the world.
OVC Action program
25:40 staff make hundreds of home visits a year, identifying the needs of orphans and vulnerable children and their caregivers. We help them navigate government services and health care, as well as ensure they have adequate food and shelter. Sometimes we find children in devastating situations, but through prayer and your support, there is hope.

The mission of 25:40 is to channel the attention and resources of those blessed with much toward saving children in southern Africa from the devastating impacts of poverty, disease and violence, and in doing so create one community of people empowered with purpose, healing and hope.
Young Adult Leadership Program
While the preschool and after care program guide and nurture young children, teenagers often drop out of school in the Transkei for lack of adequate high schools. They sometimes fall into idle or destructive living. In 2017, 25:40 set out on a very specific path to fill this gap, specifically to mentor young adult men in Christian living. to prevent what plagues young boys and men in the Transkei — substance abuse, sexual promiscuity, and unemployment.
